DSA Publishing & Design, in partnership with Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is proud to announce the release of this limited release, high-quality coffee-table book detailing the rise of aviation in the DFW Metroplex.
When the first aeroplane barnstormers flew their newfangled flying machines over the skies of Dallas and Fort Worth in 1911, they had no way of knowing they were ushering in an era of unparalleled exploration and development through flight that would carry through the 20th century and into the new millennium.
The World Connected: DFW International Airport-Taking Flight Into The 21st Century chronicles a stirring flight from the earliest days of aviation in North Texas to the creation of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The journey over the skies of the Metroplex would see more than its share of turbulence, including an intense dogfight for aerial supremacy between the two neighboring cities that ultimately gave way to an uneasy truce which spawned the world’s third-busiest airport.
This book also explores the largest expansion project in the history of DFW International Airport, which produced a state-of-the-art international terminal and the world’s most advanced automated people mover system, establishing DFW as one of the globe’s premier aviation gateways as it prepares to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
